Tatiana Stantcheva received her Ph.D. in Theoretical Astrophysics at The Ohio State University in 2004 under the guidance of Dr. Eric Herbst. Her Ph.D. dissertation is on the topic of “The Application of Stochastic Approaches to Interstellar Chemistry.”

She is a Professor of Physics at Northern Virginia Community College, teaching physics, advising students, and mentoring junior faculty. She maintains a small private consulting practice where she tutors introductory college physics and mathematics and coaches students on making the best of their academic experience. In 2020, she cofounded a public, non-profit organization, NOVA Friends Fund, with the mission of helping underprivileged NOVA students achieve their potential. She is currently serving as its Executive President.
